Why does everyone make fun of Dennis Kucinich? Well, maybe it's because of this:
And yeah, he has big ears. But I watched him on Letterman the other night, and Bill Maher a few weeks ago, and he's a really smart guy. And you know what? He'd be a damn good president. Dennis Kucinich wants two things: health care and peace for all.
"Our lives belong not only to ourselves, but also to others" he said to Dave. And somehow this guy isn't electable? We'd rather have someone who will start more wars and who will pander to the health care lobbyists who care only about making a profit and nothing about the actual people they are screwing over.
If you haven't seen "Sicko" yet, you should. It's shocking to think that the United States of America, often dubbed as the "greatest nation in the world" has a shorter life expectancy than most western European nations. Costa Rica and Cuba have better health care systems.
In Great Britain, you can get a prescription filled for $10. No matter what it is, no matter how many pills you need - it's $10. But to suggest that we should have free national health care in the United States... that's just socialism. And somehow, that's wrong.
Dennis Kucinich '08. He's got my vote.
And I'd like to send a shout out to Sheilah, who spent about 30 minutes on my bedroom floor after hurting her ankle... I hope you're feeling better!
